Keep your game server online and your players connected
Soraxus gives game servers, hosts, and communities real DDoS protection without the latency penalty. We filter attacks at the network edge and forward clean traffic to your server, whether it lives on our network or anywhere else in the world.
Multiplayer infrastructure is a constant target
Games attract attacks the way few other services do. Rivalries, cheating disputes, and simple boredom all translate into traffic aimed at your server, and the tools to launch that traffic are cheap and widely available.
Attacks are cheap and constant
Booter and stresser services put attack traffic in the hands of anyone with a grudge. A single player losing a match can point hundreds of gigabits at your server minutes later, with no technical skill required.
Latency is the whole product
Players notice a few milliseconds. Protection that adds a detour through a distant scrubbing center ruins the experience even when no attack is happening. Our filtering is designed to stay out of the way of legitimate packets.
Downtime empties your community
Game communities are fragile. A weekend of instability during an attack sends players to a competitor and they rarely come back. Keeping the server reachable is the difference between growth and decline.
Protection tuned for real-time games
Low-latency mitigation
Traffic is scrubbed at the nearest point of presence and filtered in-kernel with XDP, so clean packets reach your server without a meaningful latency penalty.
Built for UDP game traffic
Many games run on UDP, which is easy to spoof and flood. Our filters understand game traffic patterns and separate real players from attack traffic engineered to look like them.
Application-layer filters
Modern attacks go after the game protocol and the query port, not just raw bandwidth. Application filters are tuned to catch these without dropping legitimate connections.
Remote protection over GRE
Host wherever you like. We scrub your traffic and forward the clean traffic to your origin over a GRE tunnel, so you keep your existing hardware and provider.
Always-on or on-detect
Run filtering inline at all times, or have it engage automatically the moment an attack is detected. Either way, mitigation kicks in fast enough to keep your players connected.
IPv4 and IPv6
Dual-stack from the start. Whether your players connect over IPv4 or IPv6, both are protected without a separate configuration.
Keep your host. Add our protection.
You do not have to migrate to protect a game server. With remote DDoS protection, your traffic is announced through the Soraxus network, scrubbed at the edge, and forwarded to your existing origin over a GRE tunnel. The attack traffic never reaches your machine.
This is ideal for hosts and communities that have already invested in hardware, or that run on a provider they are happy with but that cannot stop a serious attack. You keep your setup and gain full Layer 3 to Layer 7 filtering.
- Game server hosting companies protecting shared and dedicated machines
- FiveM, Minecraft, Rust, CS2 and other community-run servers
- Competitive and tournament infrastructure that cannot afford a dropped match
- Voice and matchmaking backends that sit behind the game itself

Gaming DDoS protection questions
Common questions from game server owners, hosts, and communities.
The best DDoS protection for gaming servers combines low latency, high-capacity filtering, and mitigation that kicks in instantly. Game traffic is extremely sensitive to latency and packet loss, so protection that reroutes players through a distant scrubbing center or only engages after an attack is detected tends to hurt the experience.
Soraxus filters traffic at the nearest point of presence and mitigates in-kernel, so attacks are stopped before they reach your server while real players keep a fast, stable connection.
Yes. Remote DDoS protection is designed for exactly this. We route your traffic through the Soraxus network, scrub it, and forward the clean traffic to your origin over a GRE tunnel. Your server can stay with your current host or on your own hardware.
This lets you keep the machine, provider, and setup you already have while gaining full Layer 3 to Layer 7 protection.
Keeping latency low is the entire point of gaming-focused protection. Real-world latency depends on a number of factors, including where your players and your server sit relative to our network, but our mitigation runs inline at the network edge and is tuned to pass legitimate traffic through with minimal overhead. Under normal conditions, protection stays out of the way of your players.
Game servers see a mix of volumetric floods that try to saturate the connection, protocol attacks that exhaust network state, and application-layer attacks aimed at the game protocol or query port. Because most games use UDP, spoofed and reflected floods are especially common.
Our protection covers all of these, and we keep updating our filtering as new attack methods appear.
Yes. A small community running a single server is just as likely to be attacked as a large host, and often has less room to absorb downtime before players drift away. The same Layer 3 to Layer 7 protection applies whether you run one server or hundreds.
If you are a hosting company, we can protect infrastructure at scale. If you are a community running your own box, remote protection lets you keep that box and add filtering in front of it.
